Prayer Importance in Islam


Prayer (salah) is an integral part of Islam, you can have an idea about the prayer importance in Islam it is the 2nd pillar of Islam, after the testimony (Shadah) of the faith which is the first requisition for entering into Islam. Salah is the pillar of Islam, it is mentioned in the Quran 700 times, and there are innumerable Hadith present that emphasize the importance of Salah. There is a Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), said Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)

‘’The first thing that will be asked on the day of resurrection will be the Salah’’. If the salah will be found perfect, he will be safe and sound in tranquility, and if the Salah is incomplete, he will be the loser.’’

There is another Hadith says the beloved Prophet of Allah Almighty, Muhammad (SAW):

When any one of you stands to pray, he is communicating with his Lord, so let him pay attention to how he speaks to Him.

Prayer is an act of worship that is demanded from Muslims in every condition, five times a day. Even if in a state of War Muslims are not exempt from saying their prayer.

“Guard strictly your (habit of) prayers… If you fear (an enemy), pray on foot, or riding.”

The Muslim community must come to the Masjid and worship together, they make special preparations for this Friday prayer like they take a bath, wear neat and clean clothes, do masvak, apply good fragrances, comb their hair, clip their nails. Jummah prayer is a congregational prayer, that is a source of building unity among the Muslims. there is a moment on Friday when all the prayers are answered. The reward for every good deed, and every charity increases on this blessed day of Friday.

There are several reasons for the importance of friday prayer in Islam, it was Friday when the world was created, it was Friday when Adam was created, and it will be Friday when the Earth will end. It is the best day to recite Darood Sharif, and dhikr, recitation, and to do all the good deeds because the reward will be enhanced.

On the other hand, if someone does not take care of the holy day of Friday and still commits sins, the punishment for those sins done on the blessed day of Friday will also be increased.
